  AIRF/SCRMU ROARS AGAINST NPS       In response to a call given by the International Transport Workers' Federation (ITF) to observe 27 March to 03 April 2023 as  Railway Global Action Week  South Central Railway Mazdoor Union (SCRMU) an affiliate of All India Railwaymen's Federation (AIRF) protested vociferously showing resentment at the draconian policies adopted by Government of India. About 700 employees walked in Scorching sun (temperature of 43 degrees Celsius) at the picturesque Vijayawada, the famous abode of goddess Durga with renewed vigor and strength. Men and Women alike marched from the Vijayawada Junction Parcel Office to SCRMU Office via Vijayawada Railway Station Road, Railway Hospital, Divisional Railway Manager's office amidst Sloganeering and drum beats renting the air of otherwise silent Vijayawada. AIRF/SCRMU HOLDS HUGE PROTEST AGAINST NPS           South Central Railway Mazdoor Union (SCRMU) an affiliate of All India Railwaymen's Federation (AIRF), India held a huge rally terming it as "Simhagarjana" - A Lion's Roar with more than 1000 employees amidst drum beats and dancing depicting Workers Unity against the draconian National Pension Scheme (NPS). This programme was conducted in response to the International Transport Workers' Federation (ITF) call to observe 27 March to 03 April 2023 as Railway Global Action Week .   INDIAN GOVERNMENT SETS UP A  COMMITTEE TO 'IMPROVE NPS' AIRF Rejects the announcement of Committee and reiterates demand for OPS       The Indian Government announced setting up a Committee to 'Improve the National Pension Scheme (NPS)'. There have been wide spread protests by the working class belonging to State and Central Government. Mr Shiva Gopal Mishra, General Secretary of All India Railwaymen's Federation (AIRF) had launched a Digital Campaign at Johannesburg, South Africa in the Railroad Conference of International Transport Workers' Federation (ITF) on 18th March 2023 to garner support from more than 700 global unions belonging to various transport sectors, ITF headquartered at London extended its support to the call given by AIRF, being the oldest and largest federation and also being its oldest affiliate.     Mr Shiva Gopal Mishra, reacting to the setting up of the committee by the Indian Government stated  categorically that "We do not accept

AIRF AFFILIATES ROAR TO SCRAP NPS ALL OVER INDIAN RAILWAYS.      In response to the Clarion Call given by All India Railwaymen's Federation (AIRF) to all its affiliates in 17 zonal railways and 6 production units comprising of about 1.2 million workers on Indian Railways to raise the voice against National Pension Scheme (NPS)  after AIRF had initiated a digital campaign at International Transport Workers' Federation (ITF) Railroad Conference held between 13 - 18 March 2023 at Johannesburg, South Africa.     Thousands of men and women participated in the protest rallies, meetings and demonstrations held all over Indian Railways in 68 divisions.
