AIRF/NRMU CR & KR OBSERVES MAY DAY IN A BEFITTING MANNER

    On the International Labour Day and Maharashtra Day, National Railway Mazdoor Union (NRMU) Central Railway (CR) & Konkan Railway (KR) an affiliate of All India Railwaymen's Federation (AIRF) organized a Youth Conference at Kalyan Railway Institute, Mumbai Division, Central Railway.

    This Conference serves as a prelude to the ensuing ITF, youth Conference scheduled to be held in Mumbai in months to come. The Youth Conference was inaugurated by Com Shiva Gopal Mishra, General Secretary, AIRF and Chaired by Com Venu P Nair, GS/NRMU CR & KR. The meeting was held with a view to educate and encourage the youth and women to Join the Trade Union Movement and also create awareness about their rights as an employee. The meeting was well organized with more than 5000 youth and women workers from 30 branches of Mumbai Division participating.

    Com. Shiv Gopal Mishra in his heart warming speech reminded the youth and women regarding the importance of unity and togetherness. He insisted youth and women workers to be proactive and to hold frontline positions in pan India against NPS protest led by AIRF and also the anti-labour policies of the Govt. Cultural programmes performed by youth and women workers followed by open session offered an realistic experience to the participants.

It may be noted that a 2nd year Post Graduate Student was raped and murdered on 09th August 2024.            An autopsy revealed that she had been raped and sexually assaulted before being killed via strangulation. The report also noted a deep wound in her genital tract, lips, left leg, right hand, ring finger, neck, and face.
