REVIEW & PROGRESS OF WELL BEING PROJECT.

Report Submitted by Com Kona Vishnu, Coordinator International Affairs & Coordinator, Well-Being Project for

AIRF, INDIA & ITF

As everyone is aware that the Well Being Project under the aegis of ITF is in the final phase. AIRF being a strategic partner has been doing this project under the directives and advise of Com Shiva Gopal Mishra, GS/AIRF.

All the Zonal Coordinators and First Responders of Team AIRF, Well-Being project met at the picturesque holy town Haridwar of Moradabad Division, Northern Railway on 28th December 2023.

All the Zonal Coordinators submitted the progress reports in their respective zones to Com Divya Sharma, National Coordinator, AIRF Well-Being Project in presence of Com Shiva Gopal Mishra, GS/AIRF and Com Vishnu, Coordinator, Well-Being Project between AIRF & ITF.

Com Preethi Singh, Member, ITF Global Youth Committee and Chair, ITF Asia Pacific region suggested that Well-Being programme be made a part of Trade Union Education (TUED) Programme to impart awareness/importance of Mental well-Being in the worker community on Indian Railways.

Com Shiva Gopal Mishra appreciated the efforts of all the Zonal Coordinators and First Responders and said that everyone in Team AIRF has put the Best Efforts. The project is almost coming to a close and that the Railway Board has also appreciated the efforts of AIRF in successfully running the project and bringing awareness among the staff and their families. GS/AIRF further stated that Railway Board has agreed to take over the project by allocating funds for the Well-Being programme on a regular basis for the benefit of 1.2 million workers on Indian Railways, 4.8 million family members and the retired workers.

GS/AIRF opined that inclusion of Mental Well-Being in the trade union education (TUED) programme would lead to bringing awareness and importance of mental well-being among the workers and the First Responders must be trained separately so that they can assist the Indian Railway Administration in mapping in future.

Com Mishra stated that the final calendar for next six months be given by Com Divya Sharma and the next meeting be planned in mid of March 2024 before finally handing over the project to Railway Board on 30 June 2024. Thus mapping on total Indian Railways will positively be done before handing over the project to Railway Board and AIRF & Affiliates will continue to support Railway Board by assisting in mapping at grass root level.

Com Divya Sharma in consultation with Com Kona Vishnu agreed to draw the calendar and intimate the dates ASAP for the meeting in March 2024.

Vote of Thanks was conveyed by Com Harika Vittal, First Responder.
