AIRF/NRMU CR/KR CONDUCTS WOMEN EMPOWERMENT PROGRAMME

NRMU CR/KR conducted Women Empowerment Programme on14 June 2023 at Matunga Central Railway Welfare Hall, Matunga Mechanical & Electrical Branch between 12:30PM to 03:30PM.
 
Notable among attendees were Com Shiva Gopal Mishra, General Secretary AIRF/NRMU Chief guest along with Com Venu P Nair Asst General Secretary (AGS), AIRF and GS/NRMU CR/KR, Com Praveena Singh, AIRF Women Convenor, Com J R Bhosale, Working President, AIRF and GS,WREU, Com Kamakshi Bagalwadikar, President NRMU CR/KR, Com Swati Mhatre AGS NRMU CR/KR, Com Harsha Shelke Zonal Youth Coordinator NRMU CR/KR and Com Rajubai Talekar, Director, ECC society were all invited on to the dais.

The Program took off  with a brain storming game hosted by Com Saraswati Salunkhe, an active NRMU Women's wing worker. Winners were presented with gifts by the Chief Guest.

A Cultural program was conducted under the direction of Com Nilkanth Waghmare:

1.Com Vishal Mahadik performed solo folk dance on Kesariya Balam Padharo maare Desh song.
2.Com Ashwini Jagtap performed solo  on Maharastra folk dance Lavni.
3.Com Reshama Kule & Com Parshuram Koli performed on Lamp Dance of Goa Folk dance culture.

Mrs Sanjhi Jain, Deputy Chief Personal Officer, Matunga Workshop and Miss Anshu Priya, Deputy Chief Mechanical Engineer were present as guest speakers and both of them discussed about importance of health and appreciated the efforts of AIRF/NRMU CR/KR in favour of employees.

Com Venu P Nair, GS/NRMU CR/KR appreciated Dy CPO and Dy CME for sparing time in their busy schedule and their contribution in women empowerment program. He also shared details about NRMU's achievements and intiatives taken by NRMU for  Matunga workshop and providing safe working environment.

Com Shiva Gopal Mishra, GS/AIRF discussed about the campaign by AIRF & Affiliates to Scrap New Pension Scheme (NPS) Campaign and day to day needs of Railway Employees and their family members. Decision and actions are to be taken for achieving our goal of restoring Old Defined Guaranteed Pension Scheme (OPS). He also discussed action taken by AIRF and affiliates and leading the campaign from the fore front at National Level in coordination with other Central Govt and and State Govt Employees and their Unions. He also discussed the Cooperation and Support of International Transport Workers' Federation (ITF) in the Digital Campaign to Scrap NPS that was initiated by AIRF at Johannesburg, South Africa on 18 March 2023.

Com J R Bhosale, General Secretary WREU motivated all present with his informative and empowering message.

Guest of honour Com Praveena Singh and Com Kamakshi Bagalwadikar addressed with their empowering and motivating messages focusing on women's health, security, safety, women's position in railway and union, initiatives taken by AIRF for empowering Women's in Railway, Mental Well Being Programme for Railway women Employees, Child Care Leave (CCL) and women's role in campaign against NPS.

Com Harsha Suhas Shelke Zonal Youth Coordinator NRMU CR/KR discussed about Mental Well Being Programme initiated by AIRF in coordination with ITF for Railway employees and their family, importance and need of mental health awareness.

Vote of thanks was conveyed by Com Harsha Suhas Shelke.

Special Thanks was conveyed to TEAM Matunga Workshop which worked under the guidance of Com Vinay Sawant, AGS/NRMU CR/KR, Com Shyam Nayak, AGS/NRMU CR/KR and Com Rajubai Talekar ECC Society Director for organizing the program and their Cultural Team for their performance.
