AIRF AFFILIATES PROTEST AGAINST BRUTAL RAPE & MURDER OF KOLKATA DOCTOR (Report Submitted by Com Divya Sharma, NRMU and Compiled by Com Kona Vishnu, Coordinator, International Affairs & Coordinator Social Media, AIRF, INDIA) AIRF & Affiliates all over Indian Railways registered Strong Protest on 21st August 2024 over the brutal rape and murder of a Post graduate Doctor in Kolkata. It may be noted that a 2nd year Post Graduate Student was raped and murdered on 09th August 2024. An autopsy revealed that she had been raped and sexually assaulted before being killed via strangulation. The report also noted a deep wound in her genital tract, lips, left leg, right hand, ring finger, neck, and face. The report revealed that the scratch marks on the woman's face were likely caused by the accused's fingernails. According to the report, pressure was applied to her mouth and throat, and she was strangled, resulting in a fracture of the thyroid cartilage.
